Day 01: Arrival Delhi
On your arrival at Delhi, you will be met by our representatives and transferred
to a hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay will be in a hotel in
Delhi.
Day 02: Delhi
After breakfast, enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour of New and Old Delhi.
New Delhi: India's capital and an important gateway into the country, New
Delhi is
a vibrant metropolis and the hub of India's political activity. Designed
and developed by famous English architect Sir Edwin Lutyens (1869- 1944. In
New Delhi, you will visit the Rashtrapati Bhawan, India Gate and the mid-16th
century Humayun's Tomb and more.
Old Delhi: Built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, Old Delhi is known for its
architectural masterpieces, crowded streets and intensely colorful bazaars.
Drive past Chandni Chowk, the main street of Old Delhi and a lively shopping
bazaar. Visit the magnificent Red Fort and Jama Masjid, the biggest mosque
in India. Later stop to visit the Raj Ghat, the place where father of the
nation Mahatma Gandhi was cremated following his assassination in 1948. In
the afternoon, we drive to Agra. Arrive at Agra and check in to hotel for
an overnight stay.
Day 03: Agra - Overnight Train to Umaria
Enjoy an early morning at sunrise visit to world - renowned Taj Mahal, the
most beautiful and extravagant monument ever built in the world. Return to
hotel for breakfast. Later, visit the magnificent Agra Fort, built by Mughal
Emperor Akbar in 1565.Later transfer to the railway station to board a train
to Umaria. Night in the train.
Day 04: Umaria - Bandhavgarh
After arriving at Umaria in the morning, drive to Bandhavgarh National Park,
one of the finest and most popular tiger reserves of India. In the afternoon,
enjoy an exciting and enjoyable Jeep Safari in the park to explore the rich
and varied flora and fauna of the park. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 05: Bandhavgarh - Kanha
Enjoy an exciting early morning wildlife viewing in the Bandhavgarh National
Park. Spot a variety of wild animals and exotic and colorful birds in Bandhavgarh
National Park. Thereafter, we drive to Kanha (approx 6-7 hrs). Overnight in
the hotel.
Day 06: Kanha
In the morning, enjoy an exciting and joyful elephant ride through the unique
landscape of Kanha to explore the natural charm and varied wildlife of Kanha
National Park. In the afternoon, enjoy a Jeep Safari through the wild terrain
of Kanha again. Night stay in the hotel.
Day 07: Kanha - Kawardha
In the forenoon, we drive to Kawardha. After checking into the palace, you
will have your first exposure of tribal life of the Bastar. Later, enjoy a
fascinating trip to the surrounding tribal villages. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 08: Kawardha - Kanker
Today, we drive through the tribal country to Kanker (approx 07 hrs). The
unique and picturesque countryside will make you feel like being in paradise
itself. Indeed, traveling through the virgin and untouched tribal landscape
can be very fascinating and rewarding experience for you. Arrival at Kanker.
Enjoy exploring the beautiful lush green surroundings of the palace. Overnight
in the hotel at Kanker.
Day 09: Kanker - Jagdalpur
Today, approx. 3 hrs of drive from Kanker will take you to Jagdalpur, the
very heartland of the Bastar tribes. Transfer to a hotel on arrival. In the
afternoon, visit the famous Anthropological Museums and explore the surroundings
of Jagdalpur. Spend night in the hotel at Jagdalpur.
Day 10: Jagdalpur
Today, you have a full day to explore the various tribal villages, which comprises
almost 3/4th of the Bastar population, each with their own unique culture
known for spirits, deities, dialects, customs and food habits. Overnight in
the hotel at Jagdalpur.
Day 11: Jagdalpur
Today, you would get an opportunity to get to know about some of the traditional
arts and crafts of Bastar, which comprise from wood-craft to terracotta, tribal
weaving to Bhatti-chitra (traditional Wall paintings), stone-carving to Bell
metal craft, Iron craft and the Bamboo crafts. These crafts reflect the subtle
creativity, inventive genius and the imagination of the local craftsmen, who
have tried to retain the original purity of perception and core-concepts governing
the life styles of their ethos. Overnight in the hotel at Jagdalpur.
Day 12: Jagdalpur
After familiarizing yourself with the tribal culture, it's now time to explore
the Jungles of the tribal belt. Therefore, today you would spend the day walking
through the greens and verdant landscape of the tribal countryside and savor
the typical flora and fauna of the region, en-route. Overnight in the hotel
at Jagdalpur.
Day 13: Jagdalpur - Raipur
Today, we drive to Raipur (approx 05 Hrs), the capital city of the newly formed
Indian State of Chhattisgarh, leaving behind the core tribal areas. En-route,
take a diversion (23 km off the main road) to Rajim, known as the Varanasi
of Chhattisgarh. Overnight stay in a hotel in Raipur.
Day 14: Raipur Delhi - Tour Ends
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport to catch
a flight to Delhi. On time transfer to the airport to board a flight for your
onward destination.
